Year in Review: The Top 5 Regular Season LWNN Games of 2018 - #5
Ah yes. The Playoffs. The time all of us coaches have been waiting for. The true most wonderful time of the year. Or as Coach Hazen calls it, Pre-Draft season.
5. Cool Guys def. Mooseknuckles 112-107 (Wk 4)
We all know that the postseason is where it all really matters, but it would be irresponsible of us to move on without so much as stopping to look back at some of the gems the League produced this year. There were ups and downs, and maybe later we can get into the downs. But for now let’s check out some of those ratings grabbers of the regular season, shall we?
The Cool Guys were tasked with hosting the last remaining unbeaten team in the League when Coach Sayer and his 3-0 ‘Knucks came to town. Big Ben is known for leaving his fingerprints on things, but in this matchup he really lived up to his “I wasn’t there” catchphrase with a 14 point dud. Luckily, Beastmode came to play with his best output of the season, and Marshawn Lynch ran all over the Browns defense (which happened to be the defense deployed by Coach Carney this game) and put up 15 points without even finding the endzone. This game also happened to pit two teammates in Deshaun Watson (MK) and Deandre Hopkins (JC) who combined for 53 points in an overtime game to heat up the matchup early. But at the end of the day it was Lynch, Hopkins, and the Chicago defense’s domination of the Bucs fabled “Fitzmagic” that sealed this one for the Johnnys and sent the Moose to the loss column for the first time. Coach Hazens squad sat comfortably at 2-2, knowing not of the perils to come in the coming weeks.
